My daughter Liz is a rather astute little 10-year-old and I can’t help but show off her writing every once in a while. Here’s some verse she just wrote about change called Ancient People of the World.
Ancient People of the World
My friends, my friends, we gather. So much to talk about, history. We talk about the things the ancient people did. The way they talked. The way they used things and the way they lived.
We think they are very different and weird and crazy, but I tell you, we will be those people in the future.
Over the years, we will grow weird. We will be the weird to the future. More and more creations will be made and different ways of doing things.
Soon enough, they will be studying things about you and me, that you and me take as a routine, just like they did in the past.
What will it be like in the future? I don’t know but I can tell you one thing. We will be the ancient ones and the studied ones, so go, be ancient people of the world.
